Reporting to the State Director, with a dotted line to the Northeast Division Finance Director, and as part of the Massachusetts Leadership Team, the Finance Director will support the Massachusetts Business Unit in a wide range of financial services, including financial management, reporting and analysis, and general financial data maintenance. They will analyze information to achieve results, solve complex problems, and serve as a strategic partner in advising how to best invest our resources towards our conservation objectives and collaborate with the Development team to manage funding priorities. They work closely with the State Director, the Chapter’s Leadership Team, and program managers to develop, monitor, manage and report on the $10.2m annual operating budget, capital projects and multi-year sustainability models. They manage the full budget life cycle of the Business Unit which includes leading the development of the annual budget, forecasting future financials, and leading efficient and clean year-end closing.
The Finance Manager is also responsible for financial compliance with TNC policies and procedures, legal standards, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and monitoring accuracy of financial documents and entering transactions in the system as needed. They drive corrective measures and consistency with corporate policies. Occasional travel is required.
Duties are highly confidential and require broad and comprehensive knowledge of Conservancy’s policies. This position works closely with Finance, Accounting, Grants, and Operations staff in other chapters, as well as within the Conservancy’s divisional and global offices.
This is a full time, hybrid position. Ideal location is in Massachusetts (with regular, as-needed travel to the Boston office) though remote candidates, with regular travel to Massachusetts, may be considered.
