ABOUT
Kokoda Track Foundation (KTF) is an Australian international aid and development organisation working in Papua New Guinea (PNG). We work closely with people and communities to improve lives and futures of Papua New Guineans by assisting remote and rural communities with access to elementary and primary education; improving access to quality and accessible healthcare; improving equality and access to sustainable income-generation opportunities, especially for women; and fostering the next generation of leaders.
THE ROLE
We are expanding and looking for an experienced financial professional to join our team on a full-time 12-month contract basis. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer, is based in Sydney with the option to work from home 1 or 2 days per week, and involves travel both domestically and internationally to PNG from time to time. The role will suit someone who is looking to take the next step in their career to grow into a financial management role with increased responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include all aspects of financial management including day-to-day banking, financial reporting, budgeting, as well as meeting audit and compliance requirements, and assisting with payroll.
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
To be successful you will need to have excellent problem-solving, time-management, and communication skills, and have the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities. You will be part of a small team and need to show initiative in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent computer skills and experience in payroll administration and Xero will be highly regarded. We further require a Bachelor Degree in Accounting or equivalent, and a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role, preferable in the NFP sector.
