The Opportunity to Make a Difference:

As Finance Manager – Grants, you will provide operational direction and management to the grant finance team to ensure accountability to stakeholders and donors over the use of donated funds, through the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and processes that facilitate adherence to contractual requirements, including donor compliance and donor reporting.

In this role you would:

  • Manage the Grant Finance team with Grant Analysts as direct reports.
  • Implement and maintain project reporting framework for grant donors.
  • Oversee the entire process of grant financial management, including supporting grant acquisition.
  • Ensure WVA compliance with donor financial requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supportive leadership to reporting staff, including coaching and delegation.
  • Maintain the Integrity of Field Finance Data
  • Provide financial leadership of the grant portfolio through, leading the design, implementation and maintenance of effective and efficient systems, processes, and tools to manage grant funding, cost recovery and reporting.
  • Provide commercial analysis and advice on complex opportunities (Grants/Commercial Contracts) in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Working closely with the financial operations team to develop and implement strategies for managing foreign currency risk associated with grant funded projects.
  • Seeking and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement in all WVA and Partnership field finance policies and processes

Who we’re looking for

As the successful applicant, you will have proven leadership experience, strong commercial acumen and excellent stakeholder management.

In addition to this:

  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance environment for charities
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting and financial systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of internal control systems and processes
  • Experience in financial systems report writing.
  • Experience in Grants and Commercial contract highly desirable
  • Experience of internal / external audit work or compliance
  • Experience working in management accounting.
  • Budget management and planning
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance or other related discipline
  • Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting (or equivalent)
