FUNCTIONAL AND HIERARCHICAL REPORTING LINES

Under overall supervision of the Finance Manager, the Finance  Officer based in Erbil is responsible for:

  • Daily coordination of field payments for NES country program and subsequent reimbursements to the hawala intermediators based on prepared and processed documentation
  • Monitoring and updating of debts with hawala intermediators for NES
  • Calculation of hawala intermediators fees, processing of the documentation to approve those fees, uploading invoices into PIN internal system and posting them to accounting system
  • Focal point in liaising with finance intermediaries for NES country program
  • Finding and advising on best possible option for fund transfers in coordination with Finance Manager
  • Preparing NES weekly and monthly cashflow plan for field offices in NES, coordinating with PIN HQ for cashflow needs
  • Supporting with various analysis of NES Country program economy

Supporting accounting team in case of needs with uploading of the document into PIN internal system and posting various invoices and other costs based on needs

GENERAL EMPLOYEES OBLIGATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Employer stipulates the right to assign the Employee any other kind of work derived from his specialization. In case of urgent work and such like the Employee may be asked to work overtime as well as during public and other holidays
  • Adhering to all PIN policies and procedures at all times including those stipulated in National Staff Handbook, Child Protection Policy, Security Standard Operating procedures, etc.
  • Punctual attendance to work including both working hours in the assigned office and schedule field trips if applicable
  • Ensuring timely and effective delivery of tasks
  • Correctness and completeness of given tasks
  • The Employee takes over the responsibility for all entrusted material or cash. The Employee is obligated to cover all damages or losses caused by his carelessness. The Agreement of Liability of Assets has been signed separately
  • Prompt providing of all relevant information to their supervisor
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information gained from employment within not publicly available
  • Archiving of all entrusted and acquired documents in proper manner
  • Representing and upholding the values of People in Need at all times
  • Behave in appropriate manners at all times and in all places

 

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance

Relevant educational and/or professional background in accounting, finance, or banking.

 

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of work experience
  • Previous experience with INGOs is desired.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including the ability to use formulas and pivot tables for tracking payments and simple analysis
  • Good knowledge of English and Arabic to communicate with various colleagues and stakeholders
  • Kurdish is an advantage

 

Specific Skills:

  • Strong coordination and communication skills, capable of supporting multiple staff members simultaneously.
  • Ability to deal with complex situations and solve related issues
  • Experience in communicating with different stakeholders
  • Analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Problem-solving approach to tasks
