Finance Officer, Trinidad & Tobago, Caribbean

Fixed Term till 1st September 2025 with possibility of renewal subject to donor funding.

The starting salary for this position is $15,000 TTD monthly

About the Caribbean programme:

In the Caribbean region, MAG together with CARICOM IMPACS is building on various assessments undertaken in the region in 2022/2023 to provide targeted assistance to states with regard to weapons and ammunition management, policy and advocacy support, and engagement with a wide range of other partners. This innovative programme focuses on safety, security and sustainability, ultimately helping to create the conditions for peace and sustainable development.

About the role:

The Finance Officer is responsible for assisting the Regional Programme Manager and Regional Finance Manager with all financial matters related to the MAG Caribbean programme including payroll, management of cash-flow, support with the preparation of financial reports and reconciliations.

About you:

  • Tertiary education in accounting (with professional accreditation highly desirable)
  • Significant professional experience working in a financial role, ideally for an NGO
  • Effective financial management skills
  • Knowledge of finance systems and procedures
  • Experience processing payroll and management of cash flow
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of databases, MS Access, Excel, Word etc
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, be proactive and offer a solution-oriented approach
  • Determined and committed to high quality standards
  • Interest in and commitment to MAG’s humanitarian mandate
