| 1. FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT AND MONITORING -
Review reconciliation submissions and account balances to ensure recording and reporting compliance in accordance with UNOPS Financial Rules and Regulations and other applicable Organizational Directives and Operational Instructions. -
Coordinate and follow up with related parties and prepare issue reports for escalation |
| 2. CORPORATE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND AUDIT -
Assist the Specialist in preparation of interim and year-end corporate financial statements, by consolidating data, preparing working files and supporting schedules for notes to the financial statements |
| 3. CAPACITY BUILDING / SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT -
Ad-hoc tasks as assigned | The key results have an impact on the overall Financial Group efficiency in financial resources management and success in introduction and implementation of operational strategies. Accurate, thoroughly researched and documented financial information, timely and appropriate delivery of services ensure client satisfaction and enhance UNOPS credibility in use of financial resources. | |
Functional Responsibilities
Education - Bachelor degree in Finance, Economics, and Business Administration, International Business, Management or other finance-related field is required.
- Master ‘s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, International Business, Management or other finance-related fields is desirable but not required.
- Demonstrated experience of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is considered a distinct advantage.
- Professional certification in accounting (CA, CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, etc.), audit (CIA) or equivalent desirable and considered an asset.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience in the areas of audit, accounting and/or financial reporting. Master degree may substitute for some years of experience.
- Experience and Knowledge of UNOPS financial rules and regulations, working knowledge of ERP would be an asset
