TREASURER’S OFFICE (UA-TREA-IUBLA)
This Finance Specialist position is primarily responsible for initiating and verifying Money Movement working with bank account management.
Department Specific Responsibilities
- Researches requests from departments and follow-up with banks.
- Responds to department inquires and troubleshoot.
- Calculates and distributes fees.
- Troubleshoots, programs, tracks, and trains.
- Reviews documentation from credit card merchants.
- Reviews and approves RPAQs submitted by departments.
- Creates dashboards to track financial and credit card merchant activity such as volumes, fees, expenses, data usage, etc.
- Maintains worksheet using knowledge of excel formulas and proficiency with financial data.
General Responsibilities
- Performs routine independent analysis of daily cash flows, cash payments, interest charges and earnings, and other financial and cash flows metrics.
- Reconciles account statements and cash transactions; troubleshoots and corrects basic and moderately complex errors, escalating more complex errors as needed.
- Serves as a liaison to external funding sources and ensures organizational accounts maintain compliance with applicable standards.
- Reviews investment reports and assists in performing accounting entries.
- Responds to employee inquiries and requests and explains fiscal policies and procedures.
- May assist in the review and preparation of documents related to the bond issuance process.
- May provide assistance to Finance Assistants.
- May provide organizational treasury training.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.
EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- 2 years in relevant field
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- CTP Certified Treasury Professional
- AAP Accredited ACH Professional
- APRP Accredited Payments Risk Professional

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule from home and the office, subject to change based on university policy and the department’s business needs.
$57,000 – $60,000 annually, depending upon qualifications.
