About the role:
An exciting opportunity has now become available for a well experienced and motivated Financial Accounting Manager to join the Head Office Finance Team.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, your role will be focused around providing hands on oversight of all Financial Accounting processes to ensure timely and accurate production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting along with leading a small team of Finance professionals.
This is a permanent full-time position, based out of Pennant Hills and we support work life balance and have flexible work agreement in place. This role would suit an experienced Financial Accountant in the industry or a first-time mover from the profession.
Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Maintain the primary responsibility over all accounting transactions through to ownership of the monthly trial balance and associated sub-ledgers, annual financial statements preparation, monthly and annual tax requirements for the agency.
- Processing financial information on a timely basis, accurately and in the manner and order necessary to meet reporting timetable requirements, including preparing and posting of necessary accounting journals and transactions.
- Providing leadership, mentoring and coaching to the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and other accounting functions including direct staff supervision.
- Driving process improvements, new systems and process implementations to support business growth.
- Deliver high quality analysis and evaluation of financial information and issues to support senior management decision making.
- Any other duties as directed by Manager.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree qualifications in accounting (or Business/Commerce), with current CPA or CA membership in Australia.
- Extensive financial accounting experience of greater than 5 years.
- Strong people leadership and coaching background of finance professionals.
- High level account reconciliation skills including but not limited to general ledger, subsidiary ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation and fixed assets.
- Demonstrated capacity in financial analysis and variance analysis to assist operational management.
- Demonstrated competency in preparing management and financial reports, accounting policies and accrual accounting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current accounting standards and tax legislation.
- High level competency with software for financial reporting, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively within a team to deliver management outcomes.
