The International Finance Corporation (IFC) – a member of the World Bank Group – is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets. IFC supports private sector development in the Western Balkans by offering investment and advisory services. Its strategic priorities include enhancing productivity, promoting inclusion, and addressing climate challenges. IFC works to improve the investment climate, deepen financial markets, support Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and advance gender finance, while also accelerating clean energy and climate investments.

As Financial Analyst you support IFC as follows:

  • Conduct research on political, macroeconomic, and sector developments in Albania;

  • Support country strategies, briefing materials, and partnerships with World Bank teams;

  • Assist with business development, due diligence, and financial analysis for project;

  • Participate in missions, monitor project progress, and address issues;

  • Support advisory projects on regulatory frameworks, stakeholders, and reporting;

  • Etc.

Part of the Talent programme “Swiss Youth at the United Nations / World Bank Group“, this position is sponsored by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). An International UN Youth Volunteer contract ensures that travel, relocation and UN health insurance costs are covered. Additionally, a monthly living allowance is paid. Skills required

For the programme:

  • Swiss nationality;
  • Master’s degree;
  • Ideally 12 months of relevant professional experience (min. 3 months – max. 24 months);
  • Max. 28 years old at the date of application;
  • Excellent command of English and 2 official Swiss languages (one active = C1/C2, one passive = A2/B1);
  • Proven interest in joining the international cooperation sector.
  • Driving license for PHRD financed positions.

For this position:

  • Master’s degree in economics, finance, public policy, business, legal, organizational sciences or related field;
  • Demonstrated interest and/or experience (ideally one year) in international finance/development, audit, business consulting, Mergers & Acquisitions;
  • Familiarity with the social and economic challenges of the countries in the Western Balkans;
  • Analytical and quantitative skills in economics and/or private sector development work, including financial analysis;
  • Fluent in English, knowledge in Albanian is an asset.

Application deadline: 22 April 2025

First round of interviews carried out by cinfo: between 13 May and 22 May 2025

Final selection: made by the host organisation based on cinfo’s recommendation and a second interview with them. Selected candidates will be informed towards the end of June 2025.

Onboarding and training: The onboarding process will start after the selection. Selected candidates will have to attend mandatory predeparture training in August.

Entry on duty: Departure is possible after the mandatory training. The final departure date will be discussed after the selection and depends on several factors.
