Your role: 

Anglicare Victoria’s Financial Counselling program aims to:

  • Deliver high quality Financial Counselling through the provision of information, advice, practical assistance and advocacy intended to stabilise and improve the client’s financial situation.
  • Support clients navigate financial crisis, build financial wellbeing, capability and resilience.
  • Facilitate referrals to other services and broader community support services to address client needs.
  • Participation in individual and peer supervision and regular team meetings with team members.

How do we assess your application:

  • Qualification Diploma of Financial Counselling
  • Membership of Financial Counselling Victoria Inc. (FC Vic)
  • An understanding of the impact of environmental factors affecting financial independence on individuals, families and communities.  Experience in working with clients who have experienced family violence would be highly desirable.
  • Well-developed verbal and written interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and also as part of a team
  • Demonstrated resilience to work with and support clients who have been exposed to trauma 

What you should know:

  • Salary is in line with Level 5 SCHCADS
  • This is around $94,000 plus super (this will increase soon in line with award)
  • Negotiable through the increments dependent upon experience.
  • Office location is flexible: Bendigo, Echuca or Kyneton.
  • Fixed term contract to June 30th 2025, extension likely in line with 2025 funding.
