Job Summary
This Financial Reporting Analyst II (Research Finance) will be responsible to:
- Prepare various financial and statistical reports for monthly closes, quarterly reviews and year-end audit reporting, including the Uniform Guidance. Prepare various financial and statistical reports for grant sponsors, donors and federal agencies responsible for overseeing grants awarded to the hospital.
- Understand and utilize various systems to respond to internal and external ad-hoc requests. In response to ad-hoc requests, works independently to determine appropriate methodology and prepares polished reports that include a detailed summary as well as graphs and charts when appropriate.
- Prepare periodic reports and documents for regulatory agencies and other external orgs as required.
- Based on recommendations and supporting information, work with dept managers in formulating action plans including development of timelines and data needs for monitoring progress.
- Participate in identifying opportunities within the dept for process improvements and application of best practices. May lead the implementation of supporting initiatives.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain supporting documentation and schedules in various media on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis in preparation for the monthly close, quarterly reviews, and year-end audit. This includes journal entries, budget performance reports, detailed trial balance reports, journal entry logs, account reconciliation reports, expanded labor cost reports, and various other supporting general ledger schedules.
To qualify you must have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Health Care Administration or a closely related field and 3 years of previous experience in financial reporting and analysis or similar setting
- Strong technical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel, and advanced database skills
- Knowledge of systems, reporting programs and networks, with the ability to identify opportunities for enhanced practices
- Knowledge of existing and emerging technologies and industry best practices
- Skilled at evaluating analytics and understanding content within the data
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of the org and various functions
- Leads a project team to implement process enhancements/improvements within the dept
- Provides viable solutions and recommendations with framework of successful implementation
