We are looking for a skilled Deputy Fire and Security Engineer to support the Lead Engineer in managing and delivering high-quality fire and security services within a growing facilities management company. This role will focus on the hands-on servicing, maintenance, and small works across fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take the next step in their career within a structured and supportive team who are currently building their own in-house fire division. - Servicing & Maintenance: Perform planned and reactive maintenance on fire alarm and security systems, ensuring full functionality and compliance.
- Fault Finding & Repairs: Diagnose and resolve faults efficiently to minimise downtime and maintain system integrity.
- Small Works & Installations: Carry out minor installations, system upgrades, and remedial works.
- Testing & Compliance: Conduct system testing and inspections to meet BS 5839, BS 5266, and other relevant standards.
- Emergency Callouts: Provide first-line response to system failures, ensuring rapid resolution.
- Customer Interaction: Liaise with clients professionally, providing clear updates and recommendations.
- Support & Development: Assist the Lead Engineer in training junior staff and contributing to the division’s growth.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Fire and Security Engineer, with a strong fire bias.
- Proficiency in servicing and maintaining fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Good understanding of industry regulations and best practices.
- Relevant certifications (FIA, ECS, or equivalent preferred).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
