Biologists conduct fisheries, wildlife and/or habitat management projects and research studies including data collection, analysis and interpretation; develop and implement project proposals and work plans; prepare recommendations; and participate in public relations activities.Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.Incumbent will be responsible for Bull Trout management and implementing management actions to achieve objectives outlined in the 2015 Recovery Plan for the Coterminous United States Population of Bull Trout. The selected applicant will represent NDOW on the Jarbidge Core Area and Upper Snake River Unit teams which will include attending and organizing meetings and coordinating stakeholders including interagency partners, private landowners and industry, and anglers. Incumbent will also be responsible for sportfish management at Elko County waters including Wildhorse Reservoir, Wilson Sink Reservoir, Owyhee River, Bruneau River, and Jarbidge River. Incumbent will be required to work with federal land management agencies and private landowners to construct, build, advise or recommend land management decisions that will benefit critical riparian habitat for all wildlife. Duties will also include developing angling regulations and fish stocking recommendations, completing and analyzing fisheries survey data, completing technical reports, responding to inquiries from the public, and developing new fisheries as opportunities allow.
