A.I.S., Inc. (AIS) is a national scientific services firm supporting maritime activities requiring certification of compliance with environmental regulations as well as collecting data for use by Federal, State, Municipal, and other government agencies along the US coastline. AIS is looking for a Fisheries Biologist to support an ongoing acoustic trawl survey within the Fishery Resource Analysis & Monitoring Division of NOAA.
Primary Function:
The Fisheries Biologist position will support their coastwide Integrated Ecosystem & Pacific Hake Acoustic-Trawl Survey. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of duties in both field and lab settings to support the trawl survey. This will include survey preparation, as well as working at sea in the vessel’s wet lab and handling research equipment, all while ensuring adherence to established protocols. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, embracing both the field and lab work while maintaining a keen focus on organization, efficiency, and problem-solving. They will contribute to the overall success of the team by taking initiative and ensuring all project aspects are managed effectively and independently.

Compensation: Candidates will be offered an hourly rate to be negotiated, and total compensation will vary depending on the candidates depth of experience. AIS benefits package includes health and dental insurance, vacation, sick and holiday benefits.
