Introduction :

The United Nations Development Programme in Somalia, hereinafter referred to as “UNDP” in collaboration with the United Nation Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) under the Saameynta Programme, has been providing support for local economic development in Baidoa and Beledweyne through a line of credit implemented by the International Bank of Somalia and a network of Economic Development Units (EDUs) operating under the Chambers of Commerce.  The UNDP has secured funding to help to develop opportunities for IDPs around Bossaso, with a focus on the fisheries sector and, seeks to implement a series of skills development activities in this sector.

Within this context, UNDP invites proposals from suitably qualified and experienced companies/organisations to conduct a needs assessment, develop curricula and training materials and to conduct training on development of fisheries, fishing and fish processing skills for internally displaced persons in Girible, Bossaso.
