JOB DISCRIPTION
Under general supervision, assists the Area Manager with all aspects of the operation of Evans County Public Fishing area. Duties include grounds maintenance, aquatic vegetation identification and control, maintaining the lake fertilization program, assisting with fish population sampling and stocking, and assisting with annual Kid’s Fishing Events and other outreach opportunities. This position may also be asked to assist with fish production activities at the Richmond Hill Fish Hatchery. In addition, this position will assist with heavy equipment operation and maintenance as well as purchasing supplies and materials. Work may also include assisting with Department emergency response efforts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree or equivalent coursework (90 quarter hours or 60 semester hours) in Fisheries Management or related field from an accredited college or university.
OR
High school diploma or GED
AND
Two years of experience in the Wildlife Resources Division as a Fisheries Technician 1 (NRT060) or position equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference may be given to applicants with:

• Fisheries management experience
• Experience working at a Public Fishing Area
• Warm-water hatchery experience
• DNR/WRD employment experience
