FISHERIES/WILDLIFE BIOLOGIST II – Position #K0217977
This unclassified, full-time position is in the Fisheries Division, Region 4, Dodge City Regional Office; and is directly supervised by Scott Waters, Fisheries Regional Supervisor. The Dodge City Regional Office is located in Southwest Kansas which boasts abundant outdoor recreation and fish and wildlife resources and a very reasonable cost of living. This position has exciting potential to integrate research, conservation biology, and human dimensions into fisheries management.
District fisheries management and conservation responsibilities for Clark, Comanche, Edwards, Finney, Ford, Grant, Gray, Greeley, Hamilton, Haskell, Hodgeman, Kearney, Kiowa, Lane, Meade, Morton, Ness, Pawnee, Rush, Seward, Stafford, Stanton, Stevens, and Wichita counties in southwest Kansas, which includes Horsethief Reservoir, Clark, Concannon, Ford, Goodman, Hain, Hamilton, Hodgeman, Kiowa, and Meade State Fishing Lakes, and numerous publicly accessible impoundments. The district contains a diverse mix of small and medium-size impoundments with some of the state’s most scenic state fishing lakes containing largemouth bass, walleye, wiper, white bass, saugeye, trout, and panfish fisheries.
