Overview of position:
We are seeking a highly skilled & experienced Flutter Developer to join our team who will be running & developing mobile applications across various cross platform devices. Someone who is passionate about writing good, readable & clear code, solving real business problems along with technical errors & taking full ownership of app development.
As a Flutter Developer, you will be in charge of reviewing the software specifications & UI mockups, developing cross browser mobile applications from scratch & leading the application testing effort. You’ll work alongside a backend Developer, as well as a UI Designer to ensure you create high performing application with a a smooth user experience.

Role objectives:
Mobile app development / maintenance: Designing, developing, testing, maintaining & deploying software in the Flutter framework & Dart language. Write clean & efficient code to build cross platform apps compatible with both Android & iOS devices.
UI/UX implementation: Developing user interface components & implementing them by following well known Flutter / Dart workflows & practice to ensure a seamless user experience by translating design concepts into functional & visually appealing app interfaces.
Code debugging: Identify & resolve issues within the application code, conduct thorough debugging to ensure that the apps run smoothly without glitches or errors, improving overall reliability.
Performance optimisation: Work on enhancing app speed, responsiveness & resource efficiency to provide users with a smooth & efficient experience.
API integration: Ability to integrate services, APIs into the app to enable features like data retrieval, authentication & real time communication.
Continuous integration & continuous deployment: Code review of team members’ commits as part of CI / CD cycle, participate in testing, quality assurance & bug fixes as part of the CI / CD cycle.

Project reporting:
This role reports to the Program Manager.

Key competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field with 2 to 5 years of experience in developing mobile apps natively in iOS & / or Android.
3 years of commercial experience developing & delivering Flutter based apps.
Experience building apps with geolocation tracking & offline functionalities.
Good understanding of state management, flutter flavors & app architecture.
Strong communications & consultative skills. Self initiated & proactive.
Experience in a remote software development environment, understanding of agile software development lifecycle.
Experience in deployment of apps in Google Playstore / Apple Appstore.
Prior work experience in the Middle East / Africa / Asia is desired.
Must be fluent in English.
Must have skills include but are not limited to Dart, Flutter, iOS, Android, Webpack, Rest APIs & integration of APIs from third parties.
Familiarity using version control tools like Git, subversion etc. & IDEs like Android studio, VS Code etc.
Knowledge of Firebase, Azure DevOps, PWA (Progressive Web Apps).
Comfortable using test cases for debugging code, enhancing performance & reliability.
Strong problem solving & analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify & resolve technical issues.
Ability to work independently & collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Candidate should be meticulous & detail oriented, with an ability to identify & track bugs in software applications.
