About the Role
This position will report directly to the Support Services Coordinator, however on a day-to-day basis the Team Leader will provide directions.
This position has broad responsibilities, under 3 work streams:
Laundry:
- providing laundry and cleaning services for the Facility, and
- maintaining the Care Facility as a neat, clean, tidy and comfortable living environment.
Servery:
- Cleaning of all equipment
- Preparation and serving of meals.
Cleaning:
- Cleaning of the Facility
- Cleaning of resident rooms
All staff within Aged Care Facilities work as members of a team and tasks are divided between team members. Facilities operate on a 24-hour basis and all staff are required to work variable shifts. The requirement for flexibility of work location, willingness to work varied shifts and occasionally at short notice is considered of utmost importance to the smooth running of the facilities at Shepparton Villages Inc.
Essential:
- Basic Food Handling Certificate or Certificate of Use of Hygienic Practices for Food Safety or equivalent
- Certificate of Safe Chemical Handling or equivalent
- A good level of communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
- The ability to follow policies and procedures
- Excellent team working skills
- Flexibility
- The ability to problem-solve low level complexity issues and to know when it is appropriate to escalate
Desirable - Chemical Handlers certificate or attendance at in-service training sessions provider by the Chemical supplier
- Food handling experience and qualifications
- Experience of working in aged or health care settings
