Job Title: Food Security and Resilience Consultant
Contract: Temporary
Duration: 100-120 Days
Salary: £500 – £600 daily rate depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Globally flexible and will be discussed with the successful candidate, regular international travel to field programmes will be required.
Reporting to: Programme Manager

About the Role
We are delighted to invite individual consultants to support the development of HALO’s crucial work.
Key deliverables would include:
- Support the project design and delivery of the HALO’s regenerative agriculture projects in Afghanistan, Iraq, Horn of Africa and Zimbabwe.
- Develop guidelines for the implementation of other regenerative agriculture projects
- Work with programmes to develop partnerships, project plans and funding proposals for other food and water security projects.
- Support the Head of Environment to development of HALO’s understanding on issues of food security and resilience, through coordination with the Policy & Advocacy teams, Partnerships and Philanthropy teams, HALO USA and Communications.
- Deliver trainings on food security and resilience topics.
- Develop a resource guide and HALO’s network to bring in additional subject matter expertise when required.
Requirements
- A minimum of a master’s level education in an area pertaining to resilience and food security.
- Professional experience in an international organisation in a resilience related role (desirable).
- Proof of research abilities and examples of publications in a specialist subject (desirable).
- Excellent network of professional associates, to enable additional subject matter expertise if required.
- Analytical capability combined with practical problem-solving skills.
- Candidate should be willing to travel throughout the four months of the contract.
