Job Description:
Position Overview: WATAD is seeking two motivated and dedicated Food Security Livelihoods Assistants to join our team in Dhi-Qar, Iraq. These positions will focus on supporting our MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises), apprenticeship, and job creation project. Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:

Project Implementation: Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of the MSMEs, apprenticeship, and job creation project, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Community Engagement: Engage with local communities, MSMEs, youth, and other stakeholders to assess needs, preferences, and priorities related to job creation and livelihood opportunities.

MSMEs Support: Provide direct support and guidance to MSMEs, including business development training, access to finance, market linkages, and technical assistance to enhance their capacity and sustainability.

Apprenticeship Program: Facilitate the development and implementation of apprenticeship programs in partnership with local businesses, vocational training centers, and educational institutions, providing youth with valuable skills and work experience.

Job Creation: Identify opportunities for job creation and income generation in the community, including through entrepreneurship, value chain development, and market-driven initiatives.

Capacity Building: Organize and conduct training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programs on entrepreneurship, business management, vocational skills, and job readiness to empower youth and MSMEs.

Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the monitoring, evaluation, and documentation of project activities, including data collection, analysis, and reporting, to assess progress and measure impact.

Partnership Development: Collaborate with local organizations, government agencies, private sector partners, and other stakeholders to leverage resources, share expertise, and maximize project impact and sustainability.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project activities, expenditures, and outcomes, and prepare timely reports, case studies, and success stories for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, international development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in supporting MSMEs, entrepreneurship, vocational training, or job creation initiatives, preferably in a non-profit or humanitarian context.
- Strong understanding of MSMEs development, apprenticeship programs, and job creation strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting, using tools such as Excel, SPSS, or similar software.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to principles of equity, inclusion, and gender equality in project implementation and teamwork.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (spoken and written) is required.
