Forestry Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Forestry Technician to join our team. As a Forestry Technician, you will be responsible for performing various duties related to forest care and ecological restoration.  This position requires heavy lifting and the use of chainsaws and hand tools. If you have experience in forest management, felling trees, and harvesting timber, we encourage you to apply.

Duties:

• Collect and record data related to tree health and growth
• Perform forest management tasks, such as removing standing dead trees and bucking fallen trees
• Operate power/hand tools and equipment necessary for tree removal and forest maintenance
• Conduct routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Assist with the transportation of materials and equipment to job sites
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment

Experience:

• Previous experience in chainsaw operation and tree felling preferred
• Familiarity with ecological restoration practices is a plus
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks
• Proficiency in using hand/power tools and equipment

We offer competitive pay based on experience and skills.  Housing is included on the property for the right candidate. This position runs from June to September with exact dates negotiable. 

About the property:

North Hunt Creek Ranch is a privately owned 1800 acre ranch South of Steamboat Springs, CO. Apporximately half of the property is wooded. The ranch is just outside the Flattops Wilderness Area where there is over one million acres available for recreation and exploration. Our small tight knit group of employees creates a relaxed but productive environment for work.
