The Foundation Gift Analyst position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all gifts received by the Foundation, including gifts made by cash, checks or credit cards, payroll deductions, pledge commitments, employer matching gifts, stock transfers, gifts-in-kind and planned gifts. This position involves researching and analyzing gifts to ensure appropriate donor credit and proper fund designation, as well as identifying discrepancies and adjusting records as deemed necessary. This position generates tax receipts daily and annually, in accordance with applicable regulations. The Foundation Gift Analyst is also responsible for reconciling gifts recorded in the CRM to the bank deposits received per review of daily bank activity, managing the monthly pledge reminder process, and updating donor records based on supporting documentation received as needed.
- Essential Functions

Daily gift processing
- Sort and organize gifts received via mail, phone, or hand delivered with cash, checks or manual credit card payments; determine appropriate donor ID and fund designation; deposit all checks using the remote deposit function on the authorized secure computer.
- Link online transactions to the appropriate gift information and generate batches within the CRM; reconcile with the deposits from the credit card processing service.
- Complete confirmation, pledge set-up and payment application for matching gift from donors’ employers.
- Determine original donors and/or matching gift companies for gifts received via third-party administrator entities and ensure gifts are recorded accurately and timely.
- Manage gifts received via payroll deductions, Pay Pal, and third-party electronic fund transfers.
- Review bank activity daily for ACH deposits or wire transfers to ensure all receipt activity is recorded timely and accurately.
- Complete daily review, approval and posting processes.
- Generate and send tax receipts for all gifts in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and university policies.
- Monitor the office email box; complete research needed for inquiries from donors, University Advancement staff, and other university employees; respond to all inquiries in a timely manner.
Pledge Management

set up new pledges in the CRM including installment schedules, planned payment method, autopay via credit card (if applicable), and appropriate fund designation, in accordance with applicable accounting regulations and university policies; apply pledge payments when received to appropriate pledge and installment; send monthly pledge reminders; analyze pledge balances monthly for collectability, make adjustments as necessary, and provide recommendations for write-offs to management.
Gift Imports

access gift files from third-party systems; run import process to create batches within the CRM; reconcile gift batches with separate merchant service accounts and amounts received in bank; track fees associated with credit card processing.
As needed
- Collaborate with University Advancement Planned Giving staff to record and document all new and revised planned gifts.
- Record all gifts received via stock transfer based on valuation documentation received from Foundation Accounting.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum Qualifications

The following Degree is required:
- Associate’s degree. Degree must be conferred at time of application
The following Degree is preferred:
- Associate’s degree in Business or related field of study
The following Experience is required:
- 1 year of experience in 1 of the following:
- working in a business, finance or other related field where accurate, reliable data entry was a significant and critical portion of the position (e.g. gift processing, AP, bank teller activities, receivables work)
- experience with and/or in the nonprofit sector in a business, finance or other related capacity (e.g. nonprofit accounting, data/records management, etc.),
- 2 years of experience as a GA or student employee is equal to 1 year of professional experience
