Primary Opportunities:

Outreach and Fundraising: The FLT Intern will assist staff including the Executive Director, Development & Communications Coordinator, and the Executive Director of MA Woodlands Institute/FLT Community Conservation Program Manager with planning and executing outreach events including the launching of a new program “Forester’s for the Fish”.

Additionally, the Intern will be assisting on preparation for environmental / natural history outdoor education programs and fundraising events including our exciting bike ride, the D2R2. This work may also include preparing an ESRI Story Map https://storymaps.arcgis.com/ project as time and experience allows.  

Secondary Opportunities:

Land Stewardship: The FLT Intern will team up with the Stewardship Director and Land Steward to care for FLT’s conservation areas including trail building, boundary marking, monitoring and assisting with baseline report field work on conservation restrictions held by FLT.

Land Conservation: The FLT Intern will assist the Conservation Director and Land Protection Specialist with preparing incoming project information, using LANDSCAPE software to visit properties and input data for new potential projects. 

Skills: Applicants should have a strong interest in conservation and protecting the outdoors for wildlife, farming and public enjoyment. FLT is looking for someone with a broad background and skills to participate in all aspects of FLT, including writing skills, organizing events, comfortable working with the public, and the ability and willingness to work outdoors.

Intern should have reliable transportation. Mileage costs for work-related travel will be reimbursed. A laptop will be supplied for internship activities.
