Full-Time Faculty, Term Track, Associate Professor of Political Science (Education)

The School of Social Sciences (SOSS), Singapore Management University, invites applications for an education-track position in Global Asia/Asian Studies with an established track-record of work in Southeast Asia and Indonesia at the Associate Professor rank, to begin in January 2025. We seek candidates with demonstrated administrative experience, scholarly research, and excellent teaching in undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses.

The position requires a PhD degree in Political Science and the candidate is expected to teach courses across several major areas of Asian Studies and Political Science, including but not limited to Southeast Asia: Past and Present, Exploring Asian Identities, History of Southeast Asia and Managing Diversity in Asia.

A significant aspect of the responsibilities of Education Track faculty is to teach and support the administration of educational programs at the school. Education Track faculty are normally expected to teach six course sections per year and the incumbent will be leading the course coordination and curriculum development for the Global Asia second major at SOSS.

Singapore Management University is a research university committed to an interdisciplinary and integrated curriculum, providing opportunities to work with faculty across the social sciences. The research support is excellent. Salary and benefits are highly competitive. Undergraduate classes typically do not exceed more than 45 students.
