Under the guidance of the Fundraising Officer the selected candidate will play a key role in coordinating the execution and implementation of our Telemarketing strategy. Acting as a crucial support to the Acquisition Chile team, the incumbent will be responsible for the development and evaluation of Telemarketing as a channel for recruiting pledge donors, aligning closely with the PSFR (Public Sector Fundraising) objectives. This role requires a strategic mindset and a proactive approach to contribute to the success of our fundraising efforts.

For every child, a childhood

The Fundraising Associate (Telemarketing fundraising campaigns), at the GS6 level in the PFP area, in Pledge Section, in the Country Office of Chile, reports to Fundraising Officer Acquisition who is at the NOA Level. The main responsibility of this position will be the management of prospective donor databases, with the goal of converting potential donors into recurring donors to UNICEF. He/she will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and ethical use of UNICEF’s internal databases. In addition, he or she will collaborate with the organization’s call centers and internal departments to generate other databases that can be contacted and purchased legally. With this strategic approach, we aim to optimize our fundraising efforts and expand our donor base effectively.

Acting as a crucial support to the Acquisition Chile team, the incumbent will be responsible for the development and evaluation of Telemarketing as a channel for recruiting pledge donors, aligning closely with the PSFR (Public Sector Fundraising) objectives. This role requires a strategic mindset and a proactive approach to contribute to the success of our fundraising efforts.

How can you make a difference? 

1. Project Management and Technical Support:

a. Assist in defining strategies, content, designs, components, and timing for Telemarketing activities and campaigns.
b. Establish campaign KPIs criteria, including reporting, systems, performance evaluation, and goals.
c. Negotiate agreements with a focus on securing optimal conditions for UNICEF.
d. Cultivate positive relationships with all suppliers associated with the campaign.

2. Implementation and Coordination of Telemarketing Campaigns:

a. Effectively implement Telemarketing campaigns outlined in the PSFR Annual Plan, managing various operational models (in-house, outsourced, or partnerships).
b. Provide technical training to internal teams or external suppliers to achieve campaign goals.
c. Develop training and motivation schemes for outsourced human resources.

3. Monitoring and Evaluation:

a. Regularly monitor and evaluate Telemarketing channel performance.
b. Weekly monitoring of fulfillment goals for acquiring new donors and proposing actions for improvement.
c. Undertake diverse analyses of information to enhance campaign goals, fulfillment, and attrition rates.
d. Prepare reports for supervisors on agreed performance indicators to enhance management efficiency and accountability.
e. Collaborate with UNICEF international and regional teams to share information, best practices, and identify new opportunities.

4. Administrative Tasks:

a. Manage quotation and billing processes for the Telemarketing strategy.
b. Handle various administrative tasks effectively.

Impact of Results

In order to effectively implement future individual fundraising work plans geared towards increasing Regular Resources (RR) funds, the enhancement of the team’s operational capacities is imperative. This position is pivotal in supporting the expansion program through four complementary logics:

1. Continuous and Systematic Control:
Ensure a continuous and systematic control and overview of Telemarketing campaigns. Implement measures for real-time monitoring, allowing for prompt adjustments and optimizations.
2. Development of New Initiatives:
Spearhead the development of new initiatives and activities, exploring innovative channels to ensure sustained growth and the attainment of yearly objectives. Collaborate with the team to identify emerging trends and opportunities in individual fundraising.
3. Data Compilation for Decision Making:
Facilitate the correct compilation of data and results, providing insightful information for strategic decision-making.Implement robust data management processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and relevance.
4. Relationship Management with Providers and Vendors:
Take charge of the management of relationships with providers and vendors, fostering positive and collaborative partnerships. Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms for UNICEF, aligning with organizational goals and values.

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: Completion of secondary education, preferably supplemented by management, marketing, sales, communications or related areas training or university courses in these areas.
  • Work Experience: A minimum of 6 years of practical work experience with supervising sells work groups, as supervisor or team leader. Fundraising experience in Telemarketing is an asset.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Spanish.
  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position may be considered to compensate for three (3) years of experience in case the candidate lacks the required experience.
  • A master’s degree from a recognized academic institution in a field relevant to the position may be considered to compensate for an additional two (2) years (in addition to the three years from above, totaling 5 years).

Desirables:

  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergencies is an asset.
