Under the supervision of the Chief, Private Fundraising and Partnerships, this post will primarily be responsible to develop new multi-million-dollar income opportunities, focusing primarily on companies and corporate foundations by implementing effective corporate partnership models and deploying innovative resource mobilization strategy, involving but not limited to, access to corporate partners’ customers/employees base, cause related marketing and direct philanthropic donation requests. The role requires the incumbent to provide effective account management of existing and new partnerships.
Together with the Corporate Associate (GS6), the Corporate Fundraising Officer will be accountable for the Corporate Fundraising income in UNICEF Philippines. Currently this channel provides 10% of the overall annual revenue target, in the next 5 years, that percentage needs to grow exponentially.
The role involves close collaboration and partnership with other members of the PFP team (Fundraising Officer (Major Donors); Marketing Communication Officer) as well as the Communication and Programme Sections. Particularly on crafting and delivering timely donor proposals and reports, as well as brand or communication strategies with new and existing partners to ensure cohesive messaging. The incumbent is also responsible for coordinating and implementing all corporate fundraising plans and budgets with suppliers, agencies and the Global Private Sector Fundraising team and Regional Support Centre.
The post will also be responsible for compliance with all prescribed and required standards relating to due diligence processes, partnership collaboration and UNICEF brand guidelines.
The Corporate Fund Raising Officer will have the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Develop the overall corporate fundraising strategy and workplan with annual targets in consultation with the supervisor. To ensure income and donor acquisition targets are met according to budget and schedule, the role is expected to:
  • Develop and implement a strategy to maintain and create partnerships with the corporate sector that will maximize long-term income and offer wider benefits to UNICEF to build public engagement in support of programme objectives
  • Plan, organize and execute corporate fundraising events/campaigns/activities/donor partners forums that will generate income and encourage corporate engagement in support of UNICEF’s programmatic objectives.
Build and foster strong relationships with new corporate prospects and donors, ensuring existing corporate donors are stewarded appropriately, resulting in profitable long-term partnerships:
  • Research, map, screen, identify prospective corporate partners, building and maintaining a solid pipeline in accordance with UNICEF’s processes and criterias. Maintain and continuously update the corporate database for targeted, current and prospective corporate partners.
  • Meet and cultivate potential corporate partners and secure multi-million-dollar partnerships from companies, their customers/employees and their corporate foundations that will maximise long-term income in support of UNICEF’s programmatic objectives.
  • Provide effective account management, partnership recognition and ensure efficient reporting on the outcomes of all partnerships.
Ensuring timely proposal, report writing and partner communication co-creation campaigns. By working collaboratively and strategically with internal and external audiences:
  • Develop funding/partnership proposals and other relevant materials (including presentations) for potential partners by working with relevant programme teams, contributing technical inputs.
  • The role involves close collaboration and partnership with other members of the PFP team (Fundraising Officer (Major Donors); Marketing Communication Officer) as well as the Communication and Programme Sections especially when creating collaborative brand or communication strategies with new and existing partners to ensure cohesive messaging
  • The incumbent is also responsible for coordinating and implementing all corporate fundraising plans and budgets with suppliers, agencies and the Global Private Sector Fundraising team and Regional Support Centre
  • Maintain close coordination with RSC and PFP Geneva in order to maximize potential of global or regional corporate partnerships. Manage corporate screenings and approvals of proposals with the PFP Division in Geneva and work with PFP RSC to support regional and global corporate partnerships. Keep up to date contact records to ensure efficiency and accuracy of partnership data and information.
Monitor and evaluate corporate fundraising activities as per agreed key performance indicators and metrics of success, including budget expenses:
  • Track KPIs, analyze and report on results and provide actionable, data-driven recommendations to continuously improve donor acquisition and retention
  • Write and present reports on a periodic basis to PFP and to regional or global teams
  • Develop TORs for Long-Term Arrangements (LTA) and Purchase Orders (PO) and participate in procurement activities with the Supply section, as needed
  • Provide agency/supplier evaluations and ensure deliverables are met prior to payment
Supervise and manage corporate fundraising support staff:
  • Manage and oversee the role of Fundraising Associate for Corporate Fundraising (GS-6), co-creating the workplan and identifying a development plan for the team member.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
  • A University Degree in the disciplines of Business, Management, Marketing, Communications, Fundraising/Philanthropy or other related fields.
  • A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
  • Two (2) years minimum relevant professional work experience in sales and marketing, account management, business management, event management or fundraising.
  • Preference given to more years of experience in the field of fundraising.
  • Experience in corporate partnerships, working within business and the private sector, and/or with NGOs/Business Asosciations/Chambers of Commerce with proven track record.
  • A corporate or high-networth individual network is an asset.
  • Fluency in English and Filipino, both oral and written.
