Position description
Hydrogen Europe is seeking a dynamic and versatile professional to join our team as an Analyst specialising in European energy and climate funding schemes, policy, and industry partnerships. As an integral member of the Funding and Financing team, the Analyst will play a key role in facilitating access to funding for our members and contributing to the decarbonization goals in Europe. This position involves collaborating closely with the Trade team and reporting directly to the Chief Trade and Funding Officer.
Main responsibilities:
- Funding access facilitation;
- Identify, monitor and analyse EU funding opportunities for the sector;
- Map and analyse leading funding facilities and instruments from Member States;
- Maintain a database of financial institutions active in the hydrogen sector, as well as leading startups and innovative projects;
- Support the Funding and Financing Manager in tasks related to data modelling;
- Activities Portfolio management support;
- Help the Funding and Financing manager structure the activities portfolio of the Funding and Financing team;
- Lead strategy development, planning, and implementation of project management measures to ensure timely delivery of the team’s objectives;
- Ecosystem animation & content creation;
- Establish and ensure constant communication with internal teams (Policy and Market, Advocacy and Communications, etc.), regarding collaboration opportunities and access to relevant data;
- Use proprietary and external data to help prepare content for panels and events related to public funding and private finance opportunities;
- Create content for the Funding and Financing Working Group, newsletters, members updates, ad hoc support meetings with members;
- Contribute to the writing of reports on public funding, private finance and business models relevant for the hydrogen industry.
Hard skills
- A Master’s Degree in Economics, Business, Finance or Engineering;
- 2-3 years minimum work experience in a consultancy, the private sector, or EU institutions with exposure to EU climate policy and funding opportunities;
- Robust quantitative background for detailed economic and data analyses. Experience in financial analysis or market modelling, would be positively assessed;
- Significant experience in addressing strategic, economic and regulatory issues in the energy and industry sector as well as an appetite to further develop their expertise in the hydrogen field;
- Ability to present work effectively to decision-makers;
- Advanced experience with MS Excel – Any data management tool additional knowledge would be appreciated;
- Excellent drafting skills: capacity to write clear and convincing documents for both technical and non-technical audiences;
- Excellent English speaking & writing skills.

Nice to have:
- A Knowledge in clean hydrogen technologies and their applications (energy, mobility, industry, buildings…);
- A good understanding of the private finance ecosystem (VCs, Infrastructure funds, non-recourse finance institutions etc.);
- The capacity to assess financials of companies and bankability of projects and/or business cases;
- Proficiency in data management tools and database building;
- Additional languages.
