About The Position:
A fundraising and grants trainee will be under the supervision of the executive director, assisting in grant applications and fundraising strategies. They will contribute to enhancing efforts to secure necessary funding to support the organization’s activities and programs. The trainee will learn fundraising mechanisms, strategies, grant application methods, narrative writing, and budget preparation.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying potential donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities.
- Researching institutions, companies, and individuals who align with the ACHR’s mission.
- Assisting in maintaining and updating the donor database.
- Helping with writing grant proposals and reports for institutions and other funding sources.
- Gathering the necessary documents and information to submit grant applications.
- Assisting in building relationships with current and potential donors and sponsors.
- Performing general administrative tasks related to fundraising, such as preparing correspondence, scheduling meetings, and handling email.
Experience:
- Previous experience in volunteer or professional fundraising is considered an advantage.
- Strong research skills to identify potential donors, funding opportunities, and relevant information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational and administrative skills.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in communications or public Relations
Harmonious in working in a human rights environment
Technical Skills
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
- Comfort with using email/Zoom/ MS Teams and instant messaging as a primary means of communication.
- Flexibility to work on other platforms that ACHR might adopt in the future.
Languages
Fluency in written and spoken English, and Arabic
