Job Description
Still I Rise is an international NGO which operates humanitarian projects providing education and protection to refugee children and vulnerable youth and work towards solving the global educational crisis in the world. Still I Rise is seeking a highly motivated and experienced High-Value Fundraising Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies to secure significant contributions from high-net-worth individuals, corporations, and trusts and foundations in India. They will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and expanding our donor base to support our mission-driven program and initiatives in India.
This position will report to the High-Value Fundraising Manager and collaborate closely with the fundraising team and other key stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives. The candidate must be in Mumbai but will work remotely with a team based all over the world.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies to identify, cultivate, and solicit major donors, corporates, and foundations.
- Research and identify potential leads of high-net-worth individuals, corporates, and foundations with a strong affinity for our mission and values.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with existing and prospective donors, providing personalized engagement opportunities and ensuring donor satisfaction.
- Lead the grant application process, including prospect research, proposal development, and submission, to secure grants ranging from 5-6 figures.
- Collaborate with the School’s program manager and other stakeholders to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities and funding needs.
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective donors and funding opportunities, tracking progress and reporting on fundraising metrics.
- Represent Still I Rise at networking events, conferences, and donor meetings in India to expand our reach and visibility within the philanthropic community.
Essential Skills and requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience in fundraising, with a proven track record of securing major gifts and grants.
- Extensive network and connections in the philanthropic community in India, with the ability to leverage relationships for fundraising success.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate compelling cases for support and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a commitment to achieving ambitious fundraising goals.
- Ability to work effectively remotely in a team environment as well as independently.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace. Knowledge of CRM tools and Project Management tools a plus
- Passion for Still I Rise’s mission and values.
Desirable Experience and Skills
- Experience in the education sector or working within a school setting
- Knowledge of the relevant network stakeholders in the region
- Experience working in a non-profit environment
