UNICEF is looking for an experienced and results driven Individual Donor Manager to support Malaysia’s Country Office to increase revenues and make an impact on children’s lives in Malaysia and around the world. You will be leading the Individual Giving team in Malaysia, a highly committed and performance-driven team responsible for overseeing an amazing fundraising program that delivers over 24M USD of income every year.

How can you make a difference?

In this role you will lead Individual Giving.  UNICEF gets support through regular donations, cash appeals and legacies using various channels and methods including digital, face-to-face, telemarketing and mass media.  Your role will be to lead this team which consists of Acquisition, Donor Love, Digital and New Products & Innovation.

Key activities:

  • Provide strong leadership and strategic guidance to the Malaysia Country Office (MCO) in all areas of private sector fundraising from individual donors and manage, coach, develop and lead the teams to ensure delivery of the results.
  • Develop robust and ambitious income and expenditure budgets (including global investment funds) and clear action plans to ensure delivery on, or ahead of, target.
  • Strengthen support/operational systems and mechanisms that underpin the delivery of UNICEF’s strategic objectives for individual fundraising – for example, maximizing the potential of the Salesforce donor management system.
  • Manage and develop professional relationships with suppliers and partners including but not limited to donor recruitment, donor management and retention, call centers, hiring and managing fundraising consultants, digital marketing, TV production and media buying.
  • Coordinate the development of creative, generating, engaging, and inspiring fundraising materials for every channel within the Individual Giving remit

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant and progressively responsible professional work experience in managing an individual donor fundraising programme together with a proven track record in driving income growth.
  • Significant experience in managing teams to deliver on financial outcomes.
  • Experience in commercial direct marketing and in communication an asset.
  • Familiarity with various individual fundraising/ marketing techniques; experience in dealing with suppliers and external agencies.
  • Experience of working in international organizations with a global presence is an asset.  Knowledge of, and experience in, the Malaysia market is an advantage, as is knowledge of, and experience in, other economies in the Asia Region.
  • Previous relevant managerial experience in individual giving is essential.

Education

Advanced university degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, or a related field.

Languages

Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset
