Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Gardener is responsible for implementing detailed landscape plans and monitoring the health of plants, trees, shrubs, and green spaces at the YEP project site. Samaritans Purse is looking for committed, hardworking applicants with a passion to serve people with dignity

Job Duties:

• Plant, transplant, fertilize, apply chemicals, water, prune, and weed flower beds and plant areas.
• Maintain flowers, bushes, trees, and shrubs.
• Manage irrigation networks.
• Implement and contribute to the design of detailed landscape plans.
• Ensure proper care in the use, maintenance, and storage of equipment and supplies.
• Remove litter to maintain clean garden areas.
• Track gardening supplies and communicate supply needs to Agriculture Coordinator.
• Operate irrigation boreholes and pumps as directed by the Agriculture Coordinator.

Education / Experience Needed

• Previous gardening work or equivalent personal experience required.
• Borehole operation experience

LANGUAGE

• Fluency in Kurdish required.
• Proficiency in English and/or Arabic is a plus.
• Must know how to read and write Kurdish and Arabic at a basic level.
