The Global Battery Alliance (GBA) was founded in 2017. Today it unites over 160 corporate and non-corporate organisations who share a vision for just, circular and responsible battery value chains. To deliver on this vision, the GBA conceptualized the Battery Passport for transparency across the battery value chain.
The GBA seeks to recruit an intern to support the Battery Passport Programme. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a leading, multistakeholder sustainability initiative in the battery supply chain due diligence and ESG ecosystem. See more here.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of Battery Passport indicators by mapping regulatory and voluntary standards relevant to batteries and critical minerals, including the EU Batteries Regulation, EU CSDDD and others.
- Support to other GBA activities as deemed necessary by the Secretariat.
Skills and Experience:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics, Political Science, Environmental Management, or similar.
- Relevant studies or internship/work experience preferably in the field of EV batteries or critical minerals and sustainability.
- Knowledge of the related regulatory landscape and experience in (para)legal work is an asset.
- Excellent IT skills and online communication tools. Knowledge of additional communication, survey, and analytical programmes is an asset.
- Experience working in public-private partnerships or multi-stakeholder settings, to adapt, and sensitivity to a multi-stakeholder environment with varying expectations and perspectives.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, additional languages are an asset.
- Self-organised team player with a drive to work independently, proactively seek advice and support in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Timeline: Anticipated start 1st September for a period of 6 months
Location: Home-based, remote. A valid work permit in the preferred country of residence is required. CET-compatible time zone is preferred. Limited international travel may be expected.
