JOB SUMMARY:

The GBV Case manager will be responsible for providing direct support, including GBV case management and psychosocial support services, to vulnerable women and girls and survivors of GBV.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function with or without reasonable accommodation.

 

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Service Provision:

  • Provide direct support and care for adult survivors of GBV and age-appropriate specialized support and care for adolescent, male, and girl child survivors of GBV, including counseling and case management.
  • Follow GBV guiding principles of respect, confidentiality, safety/security, and non-discrimination while providing services.
  • Establish a hotline and proper management to ensure that survivors from more rural and underserved areas can access information about service provision and that action can be taken to facilitate their ability to receive services in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure proper documentation of reported GBV incidences through the utilization of GBV IMS case intake, action, follow up, and other case management forms appropriately.
  • Ensure all documentation on reported cases and referrals made are updated, accurate, organized, and well maintained.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and strengthen referral networks and monitor the implementation of the referral pathway to improve survivors’ access to confidential, safe GBV services promptly to meet their needs.
  • Ensure adherence to GBV guiding principles and the provision of survivor-centered care (respect the wishes, and decisions of survivors).
  • In consultations with women and girls, develop and support to implementation a series of age-appropriate and group emotional and social support activities for women and girls, with an emphasis on meeting the needs of survivors of GBV and strengthening support networks among women and girls.
  • In consultations with GBV officer, develop and implement/ share monthly response plan and GBV key messages/issues based on case trends to disseminate information on services available and referral pathways.

 

Training and Mentorship:

  • Provide/facilitate GBV trainings for all relevant community actors, including psychosocial First Aid Volunteers, Community Health Volunteers, women groups, other informal and formal community structures, and any other identified groups on GBV topics, including but not limited to: GBV basic concepts &referral pathways, guiding principles, Prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA).
  • In collaboration with the Manager, facilitate other GBV response capacity building Trainings for referral pathway actors, including Caring for Child Survivors, GBV referral protocols/principles, guiding principles for working with GBV survivors Clinical Care of Sexual Assault Survivors.
  • Coordination, Relationship Building and Advocacy.
  • Support fellow social workers and local partner in all response related aspects, not limited to training, sub-agreements, implementation, reporting, mentoring, supervision, monitoring and evaluation throughout implementation process.
  • Support adherence to GBV referral protocols and guiding principles for working with survivors.
  • Contribute to a positive team spirit among all IMC staff.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Seek feedback from clients and adapt services accordingly.
  • Support post-distribution monitoring.
  • Carefully document service provision and maintain case files.
  • Adhere to strict data protection and information-sharing protocols to protect the privacy, confidentiality, and safety of survivors.

Coordination, Advocacy and Representation:

  • Develop and maintain contact with relevant stakeholders including community leaders and other humanitarian partners and service providers.
  • Coordinate with other service providers and community focal points to strengthen access to services and build support for survivors.
  • Organize case management meetings, as required, with other service providers.
  • Coordinate with MHPSS, child protection, health, and other sectors to strengthen integration and referrals.
  • Represent program goals and GBV standards.

Security and Conduct:

  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and policies.
  • Foster a safe and supportive working environment for all GBV staff and partners.
  • Exemplify core principles of GBV programming, including respect, non-discrimination, responsible use of power, nonviolence, and promotion of gender equality.
  • Contribute to the positive image and overall credibility of the program and organization, notably through adherence to the Code of Conduct and Ethics, including compliance with anti-harassment, safeguarding and PSEA policies.
