Review and provide input on climate change country and regional proposals, programme documents and reports to strengthen gender integration in analysis, M&E and reporting in alignment with UNICEF Gender Action Plan, Climate Action Plan and Green Climate Fund Gender Policy:
- Review and examine country and regional GCF proposals, concept notes, and programme documents related to climate change, to ensure the strategies, interventions, and expected outcomes are gender-transformative, with a focus on specific considerations for how climate change affects women and girls
- Enhance the gender analysis within programme documents to ensure that the impact of climate change on women, men, girls and boys, including an intersectional lens, is clearly understood and articulated
- Examine the existing M&E frameworks to ensure the logical framework, Theory of Change, and monitoring indicators capture gender-specific data and gendered-impact
- Evaluate gender component of Environmental and Social Safeguards that are developed by Country Offices
- Mapping of gender-transformative climate change intiatives from East Asia and Pacific, in line with the goal areas of the UNICEF Gender Action Plan 2022-2025, Climate Action Plan and Green Climate Fund Gender Policy
- Develop a compendium on cases of gender-transformative climate change initiatives in East Asia and Pacific; the mapping should be aligned to the UNICEF Strategic Plan goal areas: Health & nutrition (Goal Area 1); Education (Goal Area 2); Child protection (Goal Area 3); WASH (Goal Area 4); Social Protection (Goal Area 5); and Gender-based violence (cross-cutting priority)
- Develop a draft and revise the draft based on two rounds of feedback
- Lead and coordinate internal UNICEF consultation process with sectors and other country offices to conduct the mapping
- Develop a Powerpoint presentation summarizing the report
- Work with a designer to finalize a designed version of the report
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

- A minimum of seven years’ experience of working in gender and climate change programmes and/or research
- Demonstrable experience of providing technical input on climate-change related programme documents to integrate gender
- Demonstrable experience of conducting high-quality analysis on the gender-climate change intersectionality
- Excellent written and oral skills in English
Desirable:
- Experience of working with UNICEF on gender and/or climate change
- Experiences of working on the Gender Action Plan Priorities (health and nutrition; education; child protection; WASH; social protection and gender-based violence)
- Experience of working in East Asia and Pacific
