European Institute of Peace

tendersglobal.net

Based in Brussels and active in over a dozen countries, the European Institute of Peace (EIP, www.eip.org) is an independent organisation working collaboratively with the parties to the conflict, those who represent people suffering from insecurity or at risk of violence, as well as European decision-makers and the conflict prevention, resolution and mediation community.

We provide practical experience, technical expertise, and policy advice on conflict resolution. We use a variety of tools to help us do this, including analysis, mapping and design of peace processes and agreements, facilitating policy discussions, and proposing practical engagement, for example through inclusive dialogue and mediation support.

Are you captivated by our innovative approach to peace, and do you want to contribute to the mission of our institute? Do you share our vision for a world where people live in safety and peace because conflicts and grievances are resolved through inclusive dialogue and lasting political agreements?

We are looking for a Programme Officer to support the Institute’s Gender and Peacemaking Programme within the Peace Practice and Innovation (PPI) unit.

You will

  • Ensure effective project implementation and operational compliance with internal policies and guidelines, including financial management of activities, expenditure, monitoring of accounts and financial reporting, as well as donor rules and regulations in the delivery, monitoring and reporting.
  • Ensure the day-to-day operations of projects and other activities of the Gender and Peacemaking Programme by preparing travel, logistics, and fulfilling administrative tasks.

  • Maintain communication with project donors and ensure compliance and implementation of projects in line with donor implementation, financial reporting and monitoring including conducting regular progress reports.
  • Contribute to and track the Institute’s implementation of its Gender and Peacemaking Strategy 2.0, by (amongst other things) drafting Guidance Notes for personnel and conducting staff learning sessions; giving ad-hoc advice for gender mainstreaming and collecting relevant data to measure implementation of the GPM Strategy 2.0.
  • Produce various input and outcome documents, such as scoping, research analysis and policy briefs, linked to gender, peace and security; compile briefing material and produce presentations for internal and external audiences, including speaking points for senior leadership when required.
  • Monitor relevant international and EU policy developments linked to the Women, Peace and Security field and develop knowledge, expertise and relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Attend events and meetings in Brussels relevant to the work of the Programme and the organisation and, in agreement with senior management, represent the programme and organisation and present findings to key partners and peer organisations and networks.
  • Contribute to a dynamic and healthy work environment in the programme team, working to ensure a respectful, inclusive and supportive atmosphere and work culture, in respect of team member’s well-being.
  • Prepare briefings and reporting material to Senior Management Team as well as the Institute’s Board.
  • Coordinate team collaboration with a diverse group of team members, including with advisors working remotely.
  • Coordinate communication and conduct administrative tasks in work with consultants and advisors.
  • Proactively engage with and coordinate efforts and communication across project teams and the Institute’s Units.

Your skills and experience
