Gender Justice Program Officer- 40 hrs. per week – 1 Year (Renewable upon Funds)

The Role
This position will contribute towards achieving Oxfam’s Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT) Country Strategy objectives, and achieving the Gender Justice Program objectives, in addition to lead on the implementation of the assigned Gender Justice Projects in OPT. The role involves supporting aspects of program development and contributing to resource mobilization.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has:
- Advanced academic degree in development studies, social sciences, law or related field, specialization in gender and Women’s studies.
- At least 5 years of work experience in the field of development & humanitarian cooperation preferably with an I/NGO in similar contexts.
- At least 5 years of work experience in development and management Gender Justice programs/projects.
- Extensive knowledge on gender in conflict and crisis affected contexts.
- Knowledge of the context in OPT, more specifically civil society context.
- Commitment to a rights-based approach and gender equality, women’s rights and feminist thought.
- Solid understanding of gender concepts and latest developments in Gender Justice policy and practice and proven experience in using different gender analysis frameworks and tools.
- Experience in organizational analysis & partnership with local civil society organizations, grant management, program development and monitoring, evaluation and learning to support the program development.
- Demonstrated experience in resource mobilization, fundraising and donors’ relations.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to develop proposals and reports.
- Proven experience with donor contract management, coordination and reporting structures/processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage workflows and balance competing priorities.
- Strategic vision and analytical capacity within the gender justice program.
- Experience in gender mainstreaming and accountability of gender in emergencies
- Ability to influence and liaise effectively with key stakeholders and represent in high profile environments.
- Proven experience of successful capacity building.
- Competent to work with significant levels of autonomy and authority.
- Ability to manage complex workload and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent social skills and demonstrated ability to be a team player.
- Ability to work in multi-cultural team.
- Travel to Gaza and the West Bank on a regular basis.

What we offer
The employee will be contracted by Oxfam with a competitive, fair and comprehensive pay and benefits package that is justifiable to our donors. Basic salary starts as 126,944 ILS gross per annum, for a 40-hour contract. Salary offered will be subject to funding available and competences.
