This role sits within the Office of CEO. This department directly supports the strategic functions of the CEO. The unit acts as a conduit between the TLaWC board, the Executive Leadership Team and staff to detail progress of organisational priorities as well as being the liaison between external stakeholders and TLaWC. The Office of the CEO manages a diverse range of complex matters on any given day relating to organisational processes, governance, compliance, and projects.

Key Duties
- Provide legal support and advice to the CEO and leadership team on relevant legal issues across the organisation such as the RSA, Traditional Owner Settlement Agreement, LUAA, Native Title process, Contracts, OHS, Workplace Laws, and Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property
- Construct briefings to the CEO, for the engagement of external legal expertise
- Ensure compliance with the internal controls, statutory regulations and other formalities
- Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations
- Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal risks
- Draft legal documents such as template contracts, agreements, statements etc.
- Execute procedures for protecting patents, trademarks, and industrial designs
- Networking and seeking of pro-bono legal support
- Collaborate with management to devise efficient defence strategies
- Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust
- Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights
- Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces
- Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organisation
