The role
Kalgoorlie is located 600kms from Perth and showcases a vibrant mix of gold rush history, grand colonial buildings and immense mining operations, surrounded by some of the most dazzling spring wildflowers. Centrecare offers an attractive zone allowance to all staff who choose to work in the Kalgoorlie region.
This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced and qualified Counsellor to deliver quality mental health and wellbeing services for disadvantaged, vulnerable or hard to reach individuals who have, or at risk of mental health condition throughout the Goldfields region.
- Conduct comprehensive client assessments to inform the development of a case plan or appropriate referrals according to the clients identified needs.
- Assess supports and ensure that they are appropriate to meeting client’s needs.
- Refer and assist clients to access appropriate mainstream specialist services and support groups.
- Respond to clients in crisis.
- Facilitate groups as required.
About you
- Recognised qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Counselling, Childhood Development or other related disciplines.
- Relevant experience in working with children and families with complex needs e.g. domestic violence, homelessness, abuse, schooling issues. Whereby service design was inclusive of social, emotional, mental, and physical needs.
- Working with Children Check.
- National Police Clearance.
- Valid drivers’ licence.
- Demonstrated experience in intake, assessment and case management.
- Knowledge and experience in early intervention and prevention program services.
- Ability to work autonomously, as well as within a team and gets along well with others.
- Flexibility.
- Displays and demonstrates strong professional boundaries.
