About the opportunity
Primary Health Tasmania are enjoying an exciting period of growth, improvement, and innovation. As a result, we have a rare opportunity for a strategic-thinking, highly motivated professional to join us as our new General Manager – Health Planning and Program Management.
Our core function is to understand Tasmania’s population health priorities and to design and deliver programs to respond to those needs. The restructured Health Planning and Program Management Business Unit plays a critical role in this by:
- Ensuring our work is guided by our organisation’s strategic plan
- Driving a sustainable program management approach that delivers well-coordinated, high quality, efficient program activity and demonstrated outcomes
What you would be doing
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, and as a key member of our Executive group, you will lead a dedicated team of data and program management experts guiding strategic organisational investments in improving access, equity and health outcomes in the Tasmanian primary health system.
The focus of the role will include responsibility for delivering market leading, evidence-informed, and compliant health planning and program management approach for the organisation.
Your business unit accountabilities include overseeing these specialities:
- Project management
- Funding contract reporting and acquittal
- Program implementation
- Program planning and evaluation
- Data and analytics
- Health strategy
Here’s what you’ll look like
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in a senior leadership role in business, system planning, program management, health informatics or similar
- Demonstrated understanding and application of technical functions of the business unit such as program and project management methodology, design and governance of strategic data management and analytical services
- A proven record of strategic and critical thinking, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Highly developed values-based leadership attributes to ensure staff are provided with clarity of purpose and are motivated, supported and inspired to perform at their best and deliver high quality results
