We are seeking an exceptional talent to join us and lead the way in driving continuous improvement whilst proactively managing the operations of a busy logistics department.

As General Manager for the Distribution Centre you will play a critical role for our people, influencing and supporting warehouse recourses and shaping our Logistics function. You will drive our efforts in identifying and harnessing improvements, bring excitement and ambition for progression and change and you will own health and safety and risk mitigation ensuring best in class outcomes.

The Logistics centre, which comprises of 450,000sqft, has reduced by 8% and reviews and changes are being made regularly to improve further wherever possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that receipts, shipping and returns departments are resourced appropriately and within defined budgets, factoring daily volume & required minimum productivity targets.
  • Responsibility for planning alignment to site distribution resource planning to ensure 100% execution of productivity and service deliverables.
  • Perpetuate a positive, pro-active, team based culture within the Operations team through regular and effective communications with the workforce.
  • Motivate and lead the Operations team to achieve class leading logistics performance via coaching and mentoring of individuals (proactively identifying development and training needs).
  • Continue to evolve the guidance, support and communication platforms within all teams to ensure swift resolution of customer issues.
  • Continue to develop and implement effective systems of work and processes, to ensure quality of service, striving to make logistics a differentiator in TD SYNNEX’s value proposition.
  • Ensure Health & Safety Risk assessments & Safe Systems of work are proactively reviewed and audited as work flow and process changes.
  • Drive SOX compliance.

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience of operating at management level in a 3PL environment is essential
  • Excellent organisational, planning and problem solving skills
  • Mindful/Inventive with exceptional foresight
  • Demonstrable ability to lead, motivate and build strong relationships/collaboration across all levels and functions
  • Experience of driving change in Logistics to meet business needs
  • Succinct presentation and communication skills (oral and written)
