Our Survivor School provides survivors long-term wrap around support. Our Peer Support Program provides activities, workshops, community building and recreational sports.

The Opportunity
The Freedom Hub is seeking a passionate and visionary General Manager to lead our organisation in the fight against modern slavery in Australia. As a key figure in our mission, the General Manager will drive the strategic and operational aspects of our social enterprises and Survivor School, ensuring that we effectively support survivors of modern slavery and work towards ending slavery in Australia.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and enhance the operations of our social enterprises to maximise support for the Survivor School.
- Lead and expand the Survivor School programs in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne, eventually Nationally, focusing on helping survivors rebuild their lives and achieve independence.
- Foster relationships with key partners, stakeholders, and community members to advance the mission and funding of The Freedom Hub.
- Ensure financial sustainability and growth through effective management, innovation in our social enterprises and private donations.
- Assist the Founder/MD to advocate for and raise awareness about modern slavery issues, representing The Freedom Hub in various forums.
- Lead, inspire, and manage a diverse team of staff and volunteers, maintaining our culture and five core values of encouragement, excellence, easy going, engaged and equity.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, accreditation standards and best practices in non-profit management.
Key Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in a non-profit or social enterprise environment.
- Proven passion for human rights and a commitment to ending modern slavery.
- Strong business acumen with experience in driving sales, creating a customer centric culture, and managing social enterprises or similar ventures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
- Ability to innovate, strategise, and implement effective programs.
- Empathetic and supportive leadership style with experience in managing diverse teams, ensuring accountability for achieving KPI’s and maintaining processes.
- A strong network with corporate and business leaders across Australia.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Social Work, Human Rights, or related field, preferred.
