We are seeking a General Manager, WA to lead our growing WA Operations team. Reporting to the Head of State and Territory Operations and working with a dedicated and passionate team, this pivotal role will provide senior regional representation and overarching State leadership of The Smith Family, both internally and externally. Leading TSF’s strategic objectives you will create an inspiring work environment through your focus on coaching, empowerment, and accountability. This is a high-profile, high-energy leadership role, responsible for the effective implementation of our programs for children across the State.
About our role
You will be responsible for:
- Be an inspiring and effective leader and have a positive influence on culture and performance by exemplifying our Leadership Promise and values.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of our national strategy.
- Provide oversight of day-to-day financial operations ensuring compliance with relevant policy, systems and relevant legislation.
- Be a thought leader and advocate on TSF’s work with children, young people, families, and communities across WA by providing insight and expertise based on our experience and research.
- Represent The Smith Family in relevant peak body and membership organisations.
- Develop and manage financial budgets in line with expectations of Income and expenditure.
- Support and collaborate with business development teams and fundraising initiatives including Events and fundraising activities.
- Initiating, building, and nurturing effective on-going relationships with major stakeholders,
- Profiling and representing the organisation positively in the media, and in relevant forums, committees, and conferences, consistent with the TSF brand.
About you
As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in a General Management role or equivalent an MBA or equivalent level qualification is desirable.
- Leadership experience within NFP sector
- Change leadership and management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across a diverse range of audiences.
- Demonstrated public speaking and presentation skills.
- Proven networking, consultation, and relationship management skills
- Demonstrated understanding of the circumstances of the children and families we support. Including child safety requirements.
- financial acumen
- Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children’s Check
