tendersglobal.net

The Geospatial Analyst will primarily be responsible for the spatial analysis, mapping, data storage, collection, and maintenance, and visualization of environmental and civil engineering data related to a grant focused on landscape-scale sediment reduction projects that includes upgrading and replacing failing culverts, ponds, bridges, and rural roads. The Geospatial Analyst will help ensure accurate and efficient planning, implementation, and monitoring of restoration projects, as well as communication of project activities and data with collaborators, funders, relevant agencies, and the public as appropriate. This work will enable our team to make data-driven decisions that best support our restoration efforts and that comply with regulatory standards and grant deliverables. Planning and monitoring data will be collected through a variety of techniques, with an emphasis on UAV (drone)-based LiDAR data collection. The Geospatial Analyst will then process that data into terrain models to best inform design and restoration planning.  The Geospatial Analyst will also be responsible for creating a variety of spatial datasets and projects, including survey forms used by field staff as well as maps to communicate project results or for use in the field. This position will also play an important role in all organizational grants and the ideal candidate will be able to collect, convey, and analyze a variety of environmental data related to forestry, botany, wildlife, hydrology, soils, roads, and civil infrastructure in Northern California and likely beyond.  This position is heavily field-data driven and rural road infrastructure-focused, centered on ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123 setup and maintenance, GIS analysis, and LiDAR-based rural road assessment, and to support construction planning for road repair, upgrades, and design planning. LiDAR-based terrain modeling is a primary data product for this role, used to support construction planning, road design, and infrastructure upgrades; photogrammetry and imagery products may serve a supporting role.
