The Fundraising and Communications Division is responsible for ensuring that Cancer Council maintains a visible, engaging presence in the community; and to inspire and activate support from Victorians.

This is achieved through best-practice high volume direct marketing approaches; exceptional relationship management of high value supporters including major donors, charitable foundations, corporate partners and Gifts in Wills supporters; delivery of iconic fundraising events; and product sales and royalties through our retail arm.

The Partnerships and Philanthropy Unit is responsible for developing and implementing an effective relationship management approach with high value supporters to deliver significant and sustainable income to support the work of Cancer Council Victoria – working with major donors, charitable foundations, corporate partners and Gifts in Wills supporters.

About your opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Gifts in Wills Lead to play a vital role in the ongoing growth and management of Cancer Council Victoria’s Gifts in Wills supporters, aimed at securing the organisation’s long-term success and creating a future free from cancer.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Gifts in Wills, your role will:

  • Champion and normalise conversations about Gifts in Wills across the organisation
  • Lead the development and delivery of specific campaigns and activities across multiple channels to drive the acquisition, conversion and retention of Gifts in Wills supporters, setting and achieving KPIs (i.e. telemarketing, direct mail, eDMS, events)
  • Work on projects relating to paid media, social media campaigns and website development
  • Develop and maintain professional and personable relationships with a small portfolio of highly engaged Gifts in Wills supporters to ensure future income for Cancer Council Victoria

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience and proven track record in Gifts in Wills fundraising.
  • Effective relationship builder with strong stakeholder management and communication skills, and the ability to adapt to different styles and ways of working.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve complex problems in a timely manner.
  • Strong ability to ability to listen actively, influence and negotiate with stakeholders.
