The impact you will have in this role
Through the development of the bequests pipeline and strategy, you will use your creativity to shape the future of this fundraising program. You will work towards maximising funds from gifts in wills to ensure continued support to the macular disease community and investment in sight-saving research.
Reporting to a supportive Fundraising Manager, you will be part of a values driven team who work collaboratively towards their big goals. You will be empowered to take the lead on the bequest program, and you will be a passionate, enthusiastic, and dynamic fundraiser who is excited by the prospect of driving change to a program.
With your experience and knowledge of acquisition through to conversion and retention, you will be a data driven fundraiser who is driven by building long lasting relationships with donors through various communication channels.

Key Responsibilities
- Support on the development of a donor centric bequest strategy that is focused on pipeline growth and maximising future potential revenue
- Manage the acquisition, conversion, and retention strategies of the program, utilising varying communication channels to develop relationships with donors (to include direct mail, digital, telephone, events)
- Develop a robust pipeline with a focus on prospecting, identification, conversion and retention of confirmed bequestors
- Alongside the communications team, create clear, impactful bequest collateral
- Develop donor journeys and stewardship plans that are focused on donor experience and engagement
- Build bequestor communication plans that utilise both a marketing (direct mail, digital) and relationship (telephone, in person, events) approach ensuring that strong and enduring relationships are built
- Provide the highest level of donor care across the bequest program and also the wider fundraising program when required
- Manage bequests through to administration of realised estates from notification to final distribution
- Utilise the CRM to ensure that all bequest information is recorded correctly
- Oversight of the club grants program and management of applications through to acquittal
- Provide financial and pipeline update reports for the bequest program
Skills and Experience
- Experience in developing acquisition strategies that lead to the growth of a fundraising program
- A background in developing a bequests (or other relevant revenue stream) program with a focus on pipeline development from prospect to conversion and confirmed donors
- The ability to develop and lead on multi-channel donor communication plans that blend both a marketing (email, direct mail, digital) and relationship (telephone, in person, events) approach
- An understanding of the donor journey and experience in creating stewardship plans that attract, engage and maintain donors
- A data led approach to fundraising with the ability to use your data skills to drive both acquisition and retention strategies and report back on program performance
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal with proven experience in building and maintaining donor relationships through your marketing and relationship development skills
- High level attention to detail with strong admin skills; able to update and maintain all donor information on the CRM, oversee compliance and manage estate administration
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team, with a collaborative approach to work
