Unit Context

The ITS Country Engagement (ITSCE) is a unit within the ITS Operations & Corporate department (ITSOE) that provides state-of-art information and technology applications to support communications with external audiences, donors, member counties and other key stakeholders.  The unit focuses on modernizing the Bank’s digital engagement with the public, external clients, partnerships, and other stakeholders; as well as on managing the Bank’s development data resources and geospatial solutions.  This includes support for the operations and country engagements, and more. We work with our clients to design solutions that help enable client responsiveness, improve organizational effectiveness, and manage risks.  We are committed to delivering business solutions that deliver value for money while continuing to excel at the basics.  We contribute to providing the Bank with an integrated digital platform that connects policies, processes, people, and knowledge across the institution in a holistic and staff-centric manner. 

The Geospatial Solutions team within ITSCE is looking for a Geospatial Analyst focused on data analysis, python/JavaScript and geospatial data management.

Duties and Accountabilities:

•This position is responsible for collecting and managing data, creating mapping services, conducting research, performing technical analyses, and coordinating activities and initiatives.

•Creation of web map applications, maps, and reports displaying complex data analyses.

•Research new tools and solutions to develop new and innovative technological applications.

•Research, build and implement new solutions to help with automation or improved workflows.

•Communicate with other members of internal project teams.

•Provides geospatial technical assistance to users.

 

Selection Criteria

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in GIS or relevant fields with 2 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience working in Spatial Analytics, Geographic information system, Cartography.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

•Ability to work effectively within the ArcGIS online environment

•Publish and manage feature services

•Intermediate knowledge of GIS concepts and principles

•Intermediate GIS data modeling and database development skills

•Intermediate knowledge of GIS data formats

•Experience in performing analyses on remotely sensed data

•Experience with mobile applications specifically Esri Survey 123, Collector

•Experience with coding, particularly Python, R, Javascript

•Experience with Google Earth Engine is a strong plus

•Experience in spatial analysis and modeling (e.g., use of ArcGIS Spatial Analyst tools, Model Builder, Python scripting, SQL or equivalent)

•Experience in handling publicly available GIS datasets, crowd-sourcing platforms such as Open Street Maps and remote-sensing databases

•Experience using Web AppBuilder; Dashboards, or other development tools will be a plus

•Experience using business modeling tools such as Tableau and PowerBI will be a plus

•Good understanding of predictive modeling and forecasting techniques

•Experience with cloud computing and web development is a plus

•Excellent oral and written communication skills

•Enthusiastic and team-oriented individual

•Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills

Note: “The selected person will be hired on two years renewable Term contract which can be extended based on business needs and performance.”
