GIS & Operational Systems Coordinator
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated GIS & Operational Systems Coordinator to join our team. This role is ideal for a technically proficient professional with a passion for geospatial systems, data-driven solutions, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and advancing our enterprise GIS infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration between spatial data, business systems, and field operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and ETL processes to support GIS and operational data workflows.
2. Administer and develop enterprise geodatabases (SQL Server, SDE/Enterprise Geodatabase) with a focus on branch versioning and performance.
3. Design and implement GIS solutions using ESRI technologies including ArcPy, ArcGIS Python API, ArcGIS API for JavaScript, Arcade, and ArcGIS Pro SDK (.NET).
4. Manage ArcGIS Enterprise architecture, including Portal and Server administration, service publishing, REST API integration, and web GIS applications.
5. Automate geoprocessing workflows, QA/QC routines, and business logic to improve data quality and operational efficiency.
6. Support and configure ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, Dashboards, Experience Builder, and other ESRI applications.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand operational needs and translate them into effective GIS solutions.
8. Maintain documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and automation scripts to support repeatable and scalable operations.
9. Apply knowledge of utility network models, topology, and versioning workflows in an enterprise IT environment.
10. Stay current with emerging GIS technologies and best practices to continuously improve system capabilities.
Qualifications
1. Proven experience with SQL development and enterprise geodatabase administration.
2. Proficiency in ESRI development tools and frameworks.
3. Strong understanding of ArcGIS Enterprise architecture and web GIS integration.
4. Familiarity with modern web development concepts (REST, JSON, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, authentication/SSO).
5. Experience supporting field data collection and visualization tools.
6. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and deliver user-focused solutions.

SUMMARY OF WORK
Advanced professional work in the applied science of geomatics, developing and maintaining Geographic Information System (GIS) applications including automated mapping and facilities management (AM/FM) systems, engineering plan preparation application and standards, or developing and maintaining asset management systems and standards.
Positions allocated to this classification report to a designated supervisor in a specific disciplinary area and work under limited supervision. Work in this class is distinguished from lower classes by its emphasis on geomatics, utility mapping applications, plan preparation applications, asset management applications, and programming or automations and from higher classes by its limited supervisory and managerial responsibilities.
Note: It should be understood that the job competencies, duties, and requirements of the GIS and Operation Systems Specialist II are inherently included in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Below are the required education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Engineering, Geoscience, Geomatics, Surveying and Mapping, Geography, Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD), Mathematics, or related field.
Six (6) years’ experience with GIS, CAD, asset management, or engineering technology with three (3) of those years progressively responsible experience working in a utility experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provide the required knowledge, ability, and skills.
CERTIFICATIONS OR LICENSES
Licenses
Valid Florida Driver License within 30 days of appointment.
Certifications
GISP Certificate, Asset Management Certificate, or equivalent certification preferred, but not required.
