The Wildlife Justice
Commission is a young, innovative, mission-driven organization,
leveraging the rule of law and the power of investigation to stop
the extinction of our planet’s wildlife. Our mission is to disrupt
and help dismantle the criminal networks profiting from the
trafficking of wildlife, timber, and fish. We do this by gathering
evidence and turning it into accountability.
Purpose of role
The Global Development Director’s primary task will be to
actively cultivate and secure new fundraising relationships for the
Wildlife Justice Commission, prioritizing the United States market,
and building on the strong support already in place in Europe, from
donors such as Oak Foundation, Arcadia, WWF, and several lotteries.
The Global Development Director will also provide strategic
leadership for global fundraising efforts aimed at achieving
sustainable financial growth for a rapidly expanding nonprofit
organization with global operations and offices in the United
States of America, the European Union, and Thailand, as well as
lead a small global fundraising team based in the Netherlands and
North America. Reporting directly to the Executive Director,
primarily located in the Netherlands, you will also serve as a key
member of the Wildlife Justice Commission Senior Management
Team.
Primary responsibilities
Donor development and outreach (75%)
Global fundraising strategy, planning and budgeting (15%)
Management and oversight (10%)
Guide the development of materials that effectively communicate
the organization’s mission, results, and impact in alignment with
donor requirements and expectations.
