Are you passionate about Mechanical Engineering?Are you a Mechanical Engineer looking for a new opportunity?Join our Baker Hughes – Global BRUSH Team!We deliver innovative, integrated, and secure engineered solutions for some of the most challenging critical process applications on the planet.With a global reputation for product excellence and dedicated customer service, we support power distribution and power network sectors with intelligent, engineering-led solutions and highly acclaimed technical services that they can rely on.Partner with the bestTo carry out on-site installation service maintenance, alignment, cleaning, repair and modification of large high voltage generators, motors and sync condensers.As a Global Field Service Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:Mechanical Generator inspection maintenance and repair in line with OEM standards and processesStripping down and rebuild large generators and related equipment; fault find and rectify as necessary and overhaul and clean.Installation and commissioning of large turbo driven generators, sync condensers, and Motors (up to approximately 200 tonnes) and related equipment onto prepared foundationsCarrying out mechanical alignment checks, basic Electrical tests and adjustments to machines and complex shaft systems using mechanical, optical and laser based systems. And Electrical test equipmentInterpreting specifications and technical requirements; prepare method statements and prepare detailed and concise reports for submission to customers. Attend technical meetings on site and at customers’ premisesUndergoing training if necessary to ensure that assistance to winding specialists in carrying out in-situ winding repairs/rewinds is providedSupervising and train customers’ site personnelCarrying out an on-site risk assessment on every assignment and record details thereof on the special form providedCarrying out other reasonable duties as directed from time to timeThe job description is not to be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive and you may be required to undertake various duties as may reasonably be required of you by the CompanyFuel your passionTo be successful in this role you will:Have an accredited Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification or relevant experience – a minimum, qualified through a recognised Craft apprenticeship in fitting and assembly operations on large high voltage rotating electrical machinesHave experience of working on Competitors equipment would be an advantageHave knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures of Health, Safety & EnvironmentBe Self-reliant, resourceful and a problem solver with well-developed commercial awarenessBe an effective communicator, fluent in both spoken and written EnglishAble to undertake extensive overseas and offshore working – working away approximately 29 weeks per annumHave experience in dealing with external stakeholders on site and operating remotely on own initiativeBe a good team player with the ability to work independentlyWork in a way that works for youWe recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
